0:00 - "Hey guys! So as I'm sure you already know, Eon has made a splash with their Gamecube HDMI adapters". Umm...no. I'm going to plead ignorance on this one. I'm not keeping up to date on the latest Gamecube adapter news.
Apparently, they now have something similar for the N64. But listen to the first 30 seconds or so of this video. Is this sponsored? She's either making money off of this or she's doing a parody of an infomercial pitch man. I'm not sure which. But she's really selling the merits of this thing.
0:45 - "Besides the Super Nintendo, the Nintendo 64 was another pretty big part of my childhood." I refuse to believe that she was playing much Super Nintendo. I've seen the gameplay and I've heard the, "I've never played this game before". I'll give her the benefit of the doubt for Nintendo 64. But she suspiciously has never played a Nintendo 64 game on stream, as far as I can tell.
"I spent many hours playing Super Mario 64 and Yoshi's Story" So do a stream of these games, Erin.
2:00 - She does a comparison of what this thing does. I think it's like one of those emulator options where you can choose "smooth" and it will make the pixels more rounded. Something like that. Personally, I've used that smooth mode once, I thought, "Well, this looks kind of cool" but then immediately turned it back to normal mode and never used it again. I'm certainly not going to PAY for this.
And what the fuck is up with this music? Royalty free gangsta rap? I think the Yoshi theme is mixed into this. It's awful.
Anyway, it's hard to spot the graphical differences. She didn't do a side by side comparison, she did them one after another, so you have to go back and forth in the video. The difference is negligible. It looks slightly more blurred in the "upscaled" version. Basically like the smooth mode that I was talking about before, but not nearly as drastic a difference.
3:30 - "It looks super cute".
It's $150 for this thing. Do you want your Nintendo 64 games to look a teeny bit different (not even better, necessarily) and don't want to bother with the ease, multiple options, and free cost of emulators? Buy this device that costs nearly as much as the Nintendo 64 original retail price.
Now for the truly shocking part. Nowhere in this video did she mention that this is sponsored. But then read the description. This is an ad. She thanks Ryan from an outfit called Castlemania Games for sending her one of these things and has a link to where you can purchase it. The link has a referral code in it. She's making money not only from doing this ad but also from any of her horny subscribers who purchase one through her link. Plus, she got this thing for free.
Watch this video. It's only four and a half minutes. She's doing her best Ron Popeil impression. And NOT ONCE does she tell you that this is an ad. She presents this as a review. She should be reported to Youtube for this. It's grossly misleading.
She did a similar video with some Nintendo 64 controllers but at least there she said that the company sent her them. Here's my send up of that video:

Completely dishonest. But look who we're dealing with.
The comments are FULL of people saying, "I can't tell any difference", "This is way too expensive", and "This is an ad". Not even her "fans" are putting up with this bullshit. She crossed a line.
" $150 for 480P?! Are they having a laugh? I'll gladly go with the $29 option all day long! Great video btw :) "
" Slight visible improvement but not worth the price tag imo. I'll keep playing on the crt for now. "
" it cost to much and from this video I really didn't see a difference. I stick to emulating the n64 on my iMac at 1080p until they come out with something similar to a 1080 video signal. "
" Sadly i don't see any improvement what so ever "
" The price point is still too high. The Pound HDMI upscalers for PS1/PS2, Dreamcast and Xbox are $30 and upscale to 480/720 with no lag. Since I do have a classic tube tv for retro systems, the HDMI upscaler is just nice to have as an option for the nice big HDTV. But not for anywhere around $100. "
- " I don't know about this. Not much of a difference. "
- " Sorry but it Was more an ad than a Review. The upscaling is ridicoulus for this price. Im waiting for the Analogue n64. Better investment than this overpriced Adapter. "
Of course, the horndogs are out in force too.
- " Can't you do your reviews in a bikini or something? "
- " Why do you look prettier after each video? Why do I suddenly want the adapter? And why am I holding an umbrella inside my house.....wait I always do that.... "
- " Total babe "
- " only watched this for the hot woman "
- " Erin has a slick mode too. Lol "
And somebody says:
- " She's clothed this time at least "
Kind of funny.
But I didn't see even one person saying that they're going to buy this thing. So at least there's that. And they don't even know that it's a fucking ad because who reads the description? Totally disgraceful.
