Never Xbox Party and play MUT. My friends always give me shit about Madden and MUT in general because they've all played it, one plays Fifa, and they know (like all of us) how bad EA fucking screws players out of coins and/or money on a consistent basis.
So tonight we're all on Xbox and I'm talking about buying packs, how this weekend was Vick and Taylor UL's, and how many coins I have, etc so they are like "open some packs." I fire up a stream and have a couple of my friends watching, and they tell me to open a UL Fantasy pack. Pulled some stuff, and a 87 "quicksell juice" Justin Houston in the first round that goes for 230,000. Shit yeah, I'm pumped, made an actual good profit on a pack for like the 3rd time all year after hundreds of packs opened. Maybe This will be one of those cool packs where you get a bunch of good cards....get to the 2nd UL round: 87 Ray Guy, 87 Tomlinson, and 2 other complete crap cards I honestly forget what they were, but LT was the highest value which tells you a lot.
I'm pretty much ready to QS Houston and be done, But these buttmunches are persistent and want me to open 2 more since I made basically double my money back. I've got coin to burn anyway and a good team so it's not really a big deal...plus I was having fun with it.
I ended up opening my 5 remaining UL packs for the week...so I spent 720,000 in coins on these. NOT ONE SINGLE PACK got me any UL card over 88, in fact 5 of the 6 I got to choose between 2 87's (twice i got the 87 Guy and 87 Tomlinson)...and in 3 of the packs the other cards that weren't UL's were merely slightly better than those options. The only 88 UL option I ever saw was Morten.
blah blah packs are random, you knew what you signed up for, blah blah. i know already.
I'm just saying it would be fucking nice of this shitbag company to have something in the algorithms that knows if you are blowing 700k on packs like that you would at least get one fucking 94 UL set card...even if its the damn punter or Munoz. or like...how about a random 93 card from literally any other program? i didnt even get a TOTW card to pick from that was higher than 85.
Did I pull Elites? sure...couple of 90's...Legend Suggs piece, Chandler. 2 89 Team Builders. All in all I think I got about 18 elites out of the 6 packs. And my best card out of all 6 packs was the TB 92 Trent Brown in the first round of my 5th one. Without the Houston 230k card I would have taken a disgustingly large loss. All in all I got 3 cards that were 90+ the rest were mostly low-mid 80's.
So this is kind of the usual PSA to never buy packs. Just stop doing it. They are never going to give you SHIT. The most enjoyable part of the night was just the fun we all had in the party getting overly excited about my 81 TOTW player pull, and them laughing at my groans of complete and total disgust in the 2nd round of the packs when I get to my UL selections and its just 87's and 88's.
This isn't a bitch post. Like I said, I have tons of coins to burn so this was just for the hell of it....so I don't need anyone lecturing me or telling me I'm stupid for expecting nothing but full UL's (when I absolutely wasn't) Just a longer reminder PSA to everyone that behind all those "fire pulls" we see across the internet...what I did tonight is absolutely the majority, the normal, whatever you want to call it. This game is intentionally designed to drain your wallet and your fake coins that you earn by playing it.
