It's not you Anthem, it's me

Sorry for the long post, I just wanted to throw my two cents out into the void.

I've come to the conclusion that as with all games Anthem is just not for everybody. I went through many different emotions over the past couple weeks regarding Anthem. It has some of the best combat in a game I've ever played. I was blown away with how it looked/felt on my original Xbox One and I was having a blast despite the connectivity issues that plagued the game early on but were quickly fixed.

I enjoyed leveling to 30 and going through the storyline. After that it really fell off... For me. While I realized that loot was an issue and still is, the major issue for me has been the current content available late game. Grinding Freeplay/Contracts became monotonous after a couple weeks and I wanted more. Titans became easy mode and I would just mess around in Freeplay hoping some insanely difficult world boss would come out and scare the ever living hell out of me and I wouldn't stand a chance. (A reference to WoW but remember that Felt Reaver thing that would walk around in Burning Crusade? It was hilarious running from it and fun taking it down for the first time with a group). GM2 was literally just higher health mobs that put out more damage and for some reason I expected difficulty based off number of mobs or different types, idk. GM3 was funny and a complete waste of time.

I understand more content will be coming. I just feel more content should have been available upon release. Maybe it's my fault for not doing enough research or for not holding out to see what the general public opinions was on it.

That all being said I convinced myself to hold out for patch 1.04. I figured that if loot was fixed I could still enjoy the game until more content is released by trying out different javelins and gearing them up. I don't play a ton but currently I'm at about 140 hours time played and I have like a 720 Storm with not the best inscriptions. I figured if loot was improved a little bit I might have better luck with seeing what each individual javelin has to offer separately between their abilities because at current pace I would have to put in hundreds of more hours just to get the Storm where it needs to be, let alone the three other Javs.

Taking a look at r/LowSodiumAnthem and a little bit on this sub I've realized that there are still a lot of people that enjoy the game and that's great. The game is just not be for everybody and as of right now it's definitely not for me. I hate to say it because I didn't buy the game to play it months down the road but I guess I should set it down and come back to it.
