Im on the Xbox 1 X for starters. The game looks good from a far but far from good, if you look closely at most textures you will notice they are just flat templates shadowed to look like they are raised and appear to have depth. The planes and tanks rivets and seams are once again just flat cutouts shadowed somewhat decently (the Panzer 4 is the only one i believe to have actual rivets... but then again the main drive wheels look as if there rendered in 720). Most gun barrel heat shroud holes are very poorly made, some of them i honestly cant tell of they are cut out or if they are only shadowed to look that way. Almost all of the guns raised parts (pressed metal recievers, magazines with ribs on the sides) are once again flat templates (Selbslader 1916 mag is one to look at). The MG34 is a good example of unfinished detail, go into the soldier outfit customization while the MG34 is equipped and you can see they didnt even bother to make an exit hole for the barrel, the compensator is an obvious octagon-ish shape... i dont need to explain any further you get the idea, there are more examples but i dont want to make an even bigger wall of text.
I know i am nit picking, but one thing i absolutely love about Battlefield games is there level of detail it makes the whole game feel so much more real and believable. I can appreciate a studio slipping a finely shadowed piece that gives the illusion of something being more finished than it is on something insignificant. But this is just bad quality from a studio we all know does better than this. The draw distances are also just as poor as these details ive mentioned, however im not going to go into it.
Thank you for taking the time to read this, hopefully DICE is going to kick there visual quality up to BF1's standard. Maybe the renderings are just toned down to ensure stability untill this "beta state" is over in the next couple months.
