I bought an Xbox One X from Gamestop brand new about 2 months ago. A month and half in, I loaded up and for some reason I was in 640x480 resolution. I tried everything to fix it. I hard reset, tried different tv's, different HDMI cords and also reset to default. Nothing was working. No matter what I did I couldn't upscale to 720,1080 or 4K. So inevitably, I had to send it in for a repair.
I received my Xbox 2 weeks later, excited to play the New black ops and Red Dead. Only problem was when I would play BO4, my game would freeze and then my XB would shut off on its own. Thinking it was just a one time thing, I ignored it and continued to play. But every couple of BO4 games it would do the same thing. Until yesterday I was playing, my Xbox shutoff on its own again and then low and behold, I was getting the same issue as before where it was booting in only 640x480 and I couldn't get it out. Now I have no choice but to ship it off AGAIN 2 weeks after I got it back.
I'm sure other people have had problems with this system as well. It's really frustrating that I have a $500 console with numerous games and I can't play it. If anyone has had the same issue with theirs please share and if you have a fix let me know. It might be time to say bye bye to MS and hello to Sony.
