It may just be for my area, but I have noticed that, as of recently, over half of my local and national stations now have upgraded to stream at 1920x1080 60fps. In the past, streams were limited (on all of my platforms) to 1080 30fps or 720 60fps. Did anything change?
I'm not complaining though. Before this, hockey and tennis would sometimes look funky, with the punk or ball flickering due to low frame rate. Now, everything I watch seems to be buttery smooth.
EDIT: turns out, I used to be streaming with a Chromecast. Now that I'm streaming with an Xbox one S, I'm experiencing these framerates. The chromecast only streams at 1080 30fps or 720 60fps. Is the (2nd gen) chromecast incapable of handling 1080 60 fps?
