What will the next Xbox be called? I think Xbox 720 would be a great call.

I know it was joked a lot during the 360 era that it would be called the 720. But with all the goodwill that Phil and the Xbox team have earned back this generation, it’s a perfect storm to call the next Xbox the Xbox 720. The spiritual successor of one of the most beloved gaming systems, one that revolutionized online gaming. The Xbox One got it’s name from a Microsoft who got too involved in the Xbox division trying to make in the all in one entertainment system that also plays games. So calling it the Xbox 2 or Two, doesn’t make sense.

Maybe I’m thinking way too deeply about it. But I do think a good name helps, also how it looks too. Even though the system just sits on our shelves and what not, it doesn’t hurt to look pretty too. That’s why we get special editions because we like how cool they look. And the One S and One X are very sleek and nice looking. But I do miss the very stand out designs of 360 and OG Xbox, I’d enjoy something that looks more like a console again and less like a very sleek DVR.
