Xbox Streaming has problems

So I hear if you stream through Mixer using PC you have full control over resolution and bitrate. When I stream from my xbox it's locked at 1080p using 7mbps which is fine on the network side of things, but my xbox can't handle this as any game I play has rubber banding lag + 200+ ms ping. When checking network in Xbox settings it shows 72mb download, 6 upload, and 72ms ping. When I play Overwatch without streaming the game shows 40-60ms ping. I'm thinking xbox isn't powerful enough to stream 1080p from itself without lagging every game you play. It's not the stream that's laggy, it's the gameplay locally.

Is it currently possible to set mixer xbox streaming to use 720p or mess with settings to put less stress on the xbox? When I view other peoples PC streams they have 460 and 720 options, but my streams only option is 1080.

I've been told to get a capture card, or use windows 10 to stream xbox, and use OBS to stream my PC monitor duplicating the game. I kind of like this option because it allows us to use OBS to add Overlays n' stuff, but then you can't use Kinect as a webcam or capture the audio from the headset connected to Xbox. So you would need a PC right next to your Xbox, and I have a feeling the audio would be very off sync from the games video being streamed to PC xbox app. I'll have to look into capture cards, but then again you need the xbox sitting right next to PC - Would be nice if broadcasting from xbox directly had options other than 1080p@7+mbps bitrate - Why locked into such high quality on old hardware while PC streaming is flexible?
