I am very excited to get back into Original Xbox gaming, but I find this issue a little daunting and was looking for some help.
I have been gathering information off this sub and others over the past week and wanted to make a post looking for info to clear up some blind-spots.
There are really three options I have gathered for Original Xbox gaming.
-
Get a 360 and HDTV, threw the settings of the 360 change the resolution output to 480p.
-
Use a Original Xbox with Composite cables and HDTV.
-
Use OX with original cables on a crtv.
I keep hearing from people on this sub that I need good composite cables and not shitty ones for good picture quality for OX on HDTV. How to I know the diff between the shitty and good ones? I have a couple here that I assume are good.
-
Xbox Advanced AV Pack The box plus the cord
-
or these Xbox-Component-Cable-Bulk-Packaging, just the cables
-
Official Microsoft (ORIGINAL 2001) Xbox Advanced AV Pack NEW/ FACTORY SEALED I assume these are the best option
My first option would to just get a 360/hdtv and change the settings. I have herd from people that the quality is inferior to OG xbox with compost cables on an hdtv. Is this your experience?
When it comes to HDTVs and OX games is there a quality difference between, lcd, led, or plasma. I assume is better than 720 over 1080 and change 360 settings/ use cables and OX. Does the literal size of the tv matter is a 24 inch better than a 32?
Forgive my ignorance I am not the most tech literate person, any information is appreciated!
