So I’ve started streaming about a month or 2 ago and have really been enjoying it. The thing I haven’t been enjoying is the quality of my stream.
So my setup is Xbox - Windows 10 Xbox app - OBS - Twitch.
I’ve got a 100/100 line so the internet is not my problem.
When I stream to my pc I have it set to the highest quality and then I’ve been playing with bitrates but I can’t seem to get the output crisp, it’s fine to watch but is also blurry and soft.
I output at 1080p and downscale to 720p
See example of a past broadcast-
https://www.twitch.tv/videos/210022374?t=397s (not sure if this is allowed but I will take it down if it isn’t.)
Also I’ve noticed that there are slight skips in the broadcast.
So my questions are -
1 - Would a capture card work better to get the quality up or is there obs settings I’m missing that’s making it so average.
If so what is a good capture card to get fo streaming from an Xbox through to pc. (Money isn’t a problem as I am a full time designer so I can save up for these toys that I want).
2- Bitrates (OBS settings) - I go from about 2000-3000 - but in all honesty I have no idea what they do. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
3 - Does anyone have some other general setup tips that you can see that I am missing here.
Pretty much just want to make it a good experience for any viewers that pop by.
Merry Christmas guys.
Have a good one.
