Hey twitch community, I'm a very new streamer and i just got a game capture HD to help improve my console streams (xbox one) I have a few questions about how i should set up OBS to use the elgato optimally. I tried a short test stream last night but i was dropping a lot of frames in OBS. I stream with the xbox native res set to 720p at 30fps, my upload only tends to average around 1.8-2mbs, so cbr bitrate is set to 1400, which usually streams simpler PC games alright. My laptop isnt great but it is far above the reccommendations for the elgato.

Should i be changing the encoding options in output to h.264? Or is the elgato hardware already encoding with the x264 settings?
-
Should I just stick to the Game Capture software for livestreaming on console? Because ive heard the elgato box wont encode when im using OBS.
-
Should I be hardwiring my console as well as my streaming laptop to the router?
-
Any way to get my tv (game) audio direct through my headset so i can hear the game without the delay and still hear my follower alerts in OBS through it? I dont want to invest in a mixer just yet.
-
What recording settings should i have for recording the cleanest gameplay with the elgato? Should i change from CRF to something else? Or could i potentially go from superfast to veryfast with the elgato taking some stress off the CPU?
Sorry for a lot of questions. I can go into more detail if needed, i just havent been able to find direct answers to what im wondering about.
