Because of my entry into the PC gaming scene, I feel like the PC version might be the best choice, despite Denuvo and such. However, we're still not sure what it takes to run the game, as they never really released the specs.
Though, if I had to take an educated guess, I'm assuming that it's probably gonna need a bit more than an entry level PC. That's more than likely a statement of the fact that this game is gonna be built for 2017-based hardware, like the Switch and the Xbox One X, for example.
Maybe I'm just a bit worried that my PC might not be able to run it at 1080p 60 FPS. I only have an Intel Pentium G4560 and a GTX 1050, with 8 GB of DDR4-2133 RAM. I found out that this setup can run Sonic Generations at 1440p maximum settings with no issue, but that game is technically a 720p game from 2011, so I don't know. If you've ever played Sonic Generations at 1080p, the text and stuff is all blurry, and there's a bit of jagged edges. It's not meant for 1080p, it seems, which is probably why it can handle upscaling the game to a higher resolution, as opposed to natively running the game at 1080p.
On the other hand, Sonic Forces is gonna be... wait, is it also 720p? It appears that it's gonna run at 720p 30 FPS on the Switch, so it could be a 720p game. Then again, it's also being released for the Xbox One X's enhancement capabilities, so it will run at 4K. Not sure if it'll be 60 FPS, but it'll be 4K.
Then that leaves the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4 versions, which I'm logically assuming are aiming to be 1080p. Then again, maybe not. It has been confirmed that the game runs at 60 FPS, and Sonic Generations and Sonic Unleashed struggled to go above 30 FPS (though, Sonic Generations was capped). Considering I don't know how much more powerful the Xbox One is exactly compared to the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 4, not to mention I'm not sure how much more optimized and capable the Hedgehog Engine 2 is compared to the first one, I'm not sure if it'll be in 720p or 1080p.
I know that seemed like a derailment, but I'm really hoping that Sonic Forces doesn't require anything more powerful than my current setup, which is more powerful than an Xbox One or a PlayStation 4 (as confirmed by other people), and I'm REALLY I can use my current setup to play the game at 1080p 60 FPS with no issues, even if I have to turn down a setting or two.
