TIL that just because it supports DX11 and has 2GB of VRAM, that doesn't mean it's a "real" GPU..GT710 masterrace problems :/

tl;dr: don't buy a random GPU based soley on it's dx lvl/vram alone, do your fucking research, and never buy a fucking series of GPU that ends in '10'. I'm frankly amazed this thing can even output fucking Netflix at 1080p without shitting itself

The worst part is that I learned this lesson a long fucking time ago back in the day when I impulsively bought a GT210.

The old 8800GTX finally died recently (RIP bby, I'll always luv u), and I used the other GPU's I had kicking around (a 210 and two 275's) to build some light gaming PC's that I sold 'cause I was broke, so I saw a PNY 710 on NewEgg the other day for $40 (a refurb too lol) and snatched it up..and I should really fucking know better, I am a fucking PC tech after all, but also a very impulsive one..

"How bad can it be?", I figured..

Let's just say I dusted off the old Xbox 360 instead.

I can sorta run a few recent games on my very old PC (i3-2100 @ 3.10/6GB DDR3), such as: Crysis 3, Fallout 4, Far Cry 4, Watch Dogs 1, Dark Souls 2 Scholar of the First Sin, Dying light, Alien Isolation,etc), but with every mod and tweak I can find, W10 Gaming Mode, the old version of GameBooster before Razer fucked up the (debatable) benefits it offered, Ragnos LowSpec patches, cfg/ini tweaks, etc, etc, etc..but at 1280x720 or lower, lowest possible earthly settings, but my average FPS is about 20-25FPS in the best of cases. Most "playable": FO4 (fuckton of lowspec mods), FC4 (only if I play as ninja as possible tho, fast action and fire/explosions are bad news), Crysis 3 (same as FC4, no choice but to be an utter cloakwhore) Alien, DS2.

On the plus side, the butter-smooth 720p/30FPS-ish gameplay on the Xbox 360 has really made me very forgiving of shit performance, so there's that.

Today I finally gave up though, uninstalled them all except Alien (that one is the only one that feels close to good to play, pretty slow overall, actually considering buying it now), killed the incoming torrents of other 'demos' I was checking out with a chuckle (Witcher 3, GR: Wildlands).

The final insult came when I went down the hill to the convenience store I rarely go to, and saw they had games for rent, plenty of which are current gen games ported to X360 (and what the fuck is up with that, anyway? kinda fucking lame they can port them to the 360 but not let them run on a DX10-capable PC (with the 210/275's I sold installed, my PC was far more powerful than a 360, after all)

This utter piece of shit can't even run my DX9/DX10 library worth a damn either, on a good day the 275 ran BF3/BF4 at just a cunt hair away from 60FPS/720p/low-medium (no AA, only mesh distances set to high)..this utter shit can't even run Bad Company 2 at a solid 30fps in the fucking campaign!

welp, Microsoft made some sales of Shadow of Mordor, FC4 and Forza Horizon 2 today anyway. The dusty ol' Netflix box hasn't seen this much activity in years.

Guess I'm a peasant now.
