ESO on Switch

Okay, so here goes. I made a post about this a few months ago and pretty much got shut down, but hear me out.

While I don't think this will happen, I think it would be great to see. Referring to my last post there were these questions/concerns:

Q: I doubt the Switch could handle ESO graphically

A: I don't see why not. The Switch it getting Skyrim, which is pretty graphically demanding. Square Enix is also in the works of putting FFXIV onto the Switch and that game is just as graphically demanding (this is rumored, I don't believe confirmed).

We do know the game can scale pretty damn well graphically. With handheld mode, all we need is 720p (it's a smaller screen so not much of an issue). Tone down the graphics a bit and it's playable.

Q: ESO is still somewhat new (on an MMO scale) as is the Switch so where would the players come from? MMO's only cater to specific people.

A: Microsoft has announced quite a few titles that are cross platform with The Switch now, ESO could (hypothetically of course) be one of those. Not sure if this is on ZOS's side or the console side, but I would imagine the latter. This would increase the player base on both sides! The downside I see here is that ZOS would have an additional platform to manage.

Q: Well if that's the case, what about performance and graphics? Wouldn't Xbox One benefit more?

A: As far as framerates goes, it's not as important in an MMO like it is in an FPS. All they need to do is hit 30 fps. You could argue that the Xbox One X will hit 60 fps steady, but since Xbox One and Xbox One X players will play together (assuming here), that's the same situation. Graphically it doesn't matter. In fact, sometimes better graphics can hinder a PvE or PvP encounter due to grass density and Sun Shafts (both of which could affect player visibility). Again though, this isn't an FPS.

Even if this weren't to happen, the only thing I would like to do is play it mobile. Playstation already has this with the Vita, which is great, but other systems do not. Luckily, Nintendo just announced the Rainway project "partnership". It allows you to stream and play your PC games to many different kinds of consoles, specifically the Nintendo Switch. It will be released on November 25th, with hopefully a beta sooner.

This isn't a post to get points or even one to see what people think. More of an informative post for those that don't follow the Switch and are curious about the hurdles and how to solve them like I was.
