With the information I'm about to give, is there anything obviously wrong with my Internet/router?

Okay so the provider we use is the shit show called sky broadband, and it's "fibre optic", apparently.

I don't pay for it, I'm 17 so my parents do, but I'm the one who uses the most whether it's college work, xbox or netflix.

I'll try my best to describe how much it fluctuates.

Okay so maybe 2 - 3 months ago I'd randomly get 20mbs for maybe 10 minutes every couple of days. I average around 5mbs, and we PAY FOR 30mbs. I haven't had anywhere near 20 in months.

I'll lag if I'm the only person on the house quite consistently, that's the same if someone else is on it too, or my Internet is great when multiple people are on it (doesnt even make sense, mind fuck, I know). I'll drop down to 0.5kbs, yeah you read that right, 0.5kbs when we pay for 30. Downloading a 1gb patch on xbox takes hours. YouTube on my phone and laptop can sometimes watch videos in 720p but then buffer on 144p.

My xbox downloads a lot quicker when I'm next to the router, but sometimes doesn't.

We've had multiple people come to the house, from sky, and have updated the router and messed with the phone line to "fix" said issue, to no avail, I have a booster thing outside of my bedroom that if I didn't have the internet would be non existent. EVERY TIME we call up they say "the walls of your house are too thick" without even checking them when they're around, they tell us to change the channel yet every time I use multiple apps to see which is the best, they can change from 10 stars to 0 stars within seconds.

I genuinely don't know what to do at this point, customer service is shittest thing I've ever seen provided, it's nearly impossible to download anything on my laptop or xbox within a day (50gb games take like a week), as I'm speaking it's taking 20 seconds plus to load up a speed tester page result on Google with only me and my brother on it.

I'm hoping you guys can help me out here, we're in some kind of contract so we cant leave at the moment, and customer support is a joke, and I think it's kind of obvious how important internet is to a teenager and his younger brother, considering it's used all the time.

Edit: also whenever we call up they say that when they test the speeds for the router it comes back as 30mbs, but nothing picks up 30mbs. They won't offer a replacement and we'd have to pay for a new one. Also I know absolutely nothing about internet stuff as in TP and ips and all that stuff, only thing I know is that people can get your ip and boot you offline.
