So, bit of a noob in the monitor market.
For perspective, my laptop currently plugs into a 32" LED TV at 720p @60hz via hdmi.
Also plugged into said Tv, via a hdmi splitter, is my PS4, Xbox, and Roku.
So heres my question, if I were to get a 34" UW 1080P monitor that has 2 hdmi ports, can the second hdmi port be used for things besides a computer? Like the PS4, or roku.
This stems from me finding a 34" Ultra wide 1080 monitor for $300 new. But it has no DP, and 2 hdmis. Im fine with 1080 for now as that's whats in my budget, long term ill upgrade and pass the monitor down.
I imagine this is probably a dumb ass question, and common sense dictates it should with no problem.
Turn on the PS4 and change input, blamo.
However, I wanted to confirm with your fine people as I have ZERO direct experience with monitors since the late 90s and my ancient CRT monitor.
Any guidance, and sources, would be appreciated.
Also, my research tells me that hdmi 1.4 will push 2560x1080 @ 60, but other sources say no. Can anyone confirm?
Thanks
Ps. please be gentle.
