Lenovo Yoga 720 good for gaming?

Hi Reddit! I'm looking for a laptop for college and I thought I had narrowed down my search to the Lenovo Yoga 720 15" model. I thought it had everything I need until I saw the Asus announcement...

Here's the yoga if you want to see specs: http://www3.lenovo.com/us/en/laptops/yoga/700-series/Yoga-720-15/p/88YG7000828#tab-customize. I'm going for the most high end model with the i7 and 1tb SSD I want a laptop that at LEAST has a touch screen with some sort of pen support (doesn't have to be an amazing pen; just well enough to take notes). I would prefer a 2-in-1 design so I could lay it flat if needed. I want to be able to annotate or write notes on the laptop.

My next requirement is a gaming laptop, and this is where I ran into my issue of "is this really the right laptop for me". It has a gtx 1050 (non ti) with 2gb of vram. While I think this should be good enough for now, I'm concerned about 3 or 4 years from now when this is an old card and I'm trying to run the latest games (I'm switching from an Xbox to PC gaming so pardon my lack of knowledge on the subject). Since there really isn't any other laptop with a 1050 that's close to the portability and price of the Lenovo, I figured I'd have to deal with it. Then just a couple days ago, Asus announces their new Zenbook pro with a 1050 ti and a touchscreen UHD display.

What makes me really want the 1050 ti over the 1050 is this excellent video by Dave2D: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wEb0mWN5-gE. It seems like the ti is a fairly significant upgrade over the 1050 if you have the option.

Additionally, the fact that the Asus has two USB-C ports that use all 4 Thunderbolt lanes is very desirable. This is opposed to the one 2-lane USB-C Thunderbolt port on the Lenovo.

I'm looking for anyone with experience gaming or someone with experience with the Lenovo to give suggestions as to whether the 1050 ti is going to be worth it, and whether or not having a 2-in-1 is going to be more helpful for college. Also, I don't know much about either display (other than the fact that they're both UHD and IPS), and I'd consider myself to be rather picky when it comes to displays so that's also rather important to me. I'm willing to spend more money for the Zenbook if it's going to be worth it. Also, I don't know when the Zenbook will be released but if the upgrade is worth it, I'd also be willing to wait it out. Thanks for your help!
