I am dog sitting for my mom while she is out of town, I brought my Xbox over and have hooked it up to her TV/Bose surround sound. Whenever I have it going through the Bose at 1080p I will get slight static and sound drops every few seconds and complete screen static every minute or so. If I set the resolution to 720p I have no issues whatsoever. I have tried switching HDMI cables and trying different ports on the Bose and TV to no avail. If I connect the Xbox directly to the TV I can use 1080p just fine but no surround sound of course. I have no issues using the cable box/Blu-ray player at 1080p when connected through the Bose. It is an Xbox Ons S, Bose Lifestyle V35/V25, and a Panasonic TV though I don't know the model.
