A few questions about HD CRT's

Right now my setup includes a 24" CRT (Sony KV-24FS100) for 240p and 480i signals and a 32" 720p LCD (Sony KDL-32S3000) for 480p and 720p signals. I'm pretty happy with them but HD CRT's have caught my interest, mostly for the possibility of displaying native 480p without any upscaling. There are a few things I've been wondering about so I figured I'd ask you guys before I start scouring craigslist.

  1. First, a lot of HD CRT's advertise accepting 720p signals, but do any of them actually display them in 720p or do they all convert it to 1080i? I'd love to be able to display the Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and Wii U at their native resolutions.

  2. I've read that the HDMI ports on HD CRT's can suffer from a lot of input lag since HDMI was pretty new at the time, is this true?

  3. I know the Sony XBR960 and XBR970 are highly recommended, are there any other models I should look out for?

  4. I'd like to hook up the Dreamcast as well but I don't think many HD CRT's came with VGA ports, are there any good methods to convert a 480p signal from VGA to component?

I hope you guys can clear some of this up for me, thanks!
