Hey guys. Have had this problem for about 1-2 years now and would appreciate any help.
So, whenever I browse the internet/play a 480p/720p youtube video or open up a webpage on my laptop I get really hard lag spikes on my xbox briefly thus causing me to close my laptop till I'm finished with my game, in Destiny my bar would be green, perfectly fine and bam, for 30 seconds to sometimes even 3 minutes my connection would hit yellow and sometimes even red and I would lag really badly.
Noticing this today; I was downloading Battlefield 1 on my Xbox One. I opened up a web page to browse some e-mail, browse a sub-reddit and my dl speed for my game dropped from 28mbps to 1.3 mbps and until the browser is closed my dl speed would stay at or around 1.3-12 mbps, and then steadily climb back up.
Sorry for the wall of text, I just really want this issue resolved.
Setup:
- Motorala SB6141 modem (purchased 2 years ago)
- Asus TM-AC1900 or RT-AC68U (rebranded router from t-mobile)
other important info: Xbox is hardwired. Laptop is running on wireless 2.4ghz signal
