Buying older model bad idea?

Hello,

I tried searching but didn't come up with anything. I'm in the market to replace an old Samsung 720p tv. Must be 7 years old now. I've been looking around and randomly stumbled along a VIZIO (M422I-BI, to be exact) from 2014. My question is is it a bad idea to buy a tv that's technically already two years old? I would be using this for Xbox One, Netflix and cable channels.

On one hand I see it as a pretty big improvement over the 720p tv without spending a ton of money. I also heard the picture quality of TVs don't dramatically change year to year. However, would it be more prudent to just buy a newer model?

Thanks for any advice! (also if anyone has experience with the aforementioned tv, any input on that would be great!)
