I've been down voted to hell about this before when Ive said Battlefield 4 is unplayable for me because of the framerate and resolution make the game really blurry to me, when people ask if it's worth a buy. I get some of you might be okay with that but you're just settling for what you got when you should demand better.
It's 2016 and our "current generation" consoles can't even output 1080p at 60fps in most games . That's bad. The Neo and Scorpio are obvious confessions of that, not only for VR and 4k support but this generation has been underwhelming from a technical standpoint. Don't get me wrong I love my Xbox and PlayStation consoles but this is the first generation I have actually unplugged my current gen consoles and put them away until the next exclusive I'm interested in, and now that Xbox one exclusives will be available on windows 10 I see even less excuses to dust it off.
I remember when the original xbox came out and I dropped my Ps2 for the Xbox after seeing just how much of powerhouse that console was at the time. Scorpio seems to be a step back in that direction of the console power house and I can't wait. So while I see people complaining about the loss of kinect support and understand their frustration with a nearly abandoned peripheral I can't help but get frustrated when i see people complaining about the Scorpio that this isnt what they bought a Xbox for or that graphics and framerate don't matter. They do and they obviously do now with the steps both consoles are taking. Do you remember the last generation with a ".5" console? Because I don't. Once the Scorpio releases it will be about the same gap the original Xbox and 360 had but that was a generation leap not like this.
And I'm sure some will say that the console was released nearly 3 years ago so it's old hardware by today's standards but it wasn't even up to standard back then. A console should be able to sustain it's cycle but this generation has been a failure in terms of fidelity and technical ability. I mean for Christmas sake the dashboard is still a laggy mess at times.
