The Nintendo NX - The Handheld without a screen.

Your phone/tablet will be the screen and the NX streams wireless to your device's display. The NX can be put in your pocket and wirelessly stream gameplay to your phone via an App on the iOS or Android (with possible versions offered for PSN, XBox Live, PC, Smart TVs, Roku)or can be attached to the back of the phone with two halves of the controller on either side of the NX. The controllers will also have the option of a "dummy" brick that would just hold the controller sides together and hold the phone, while the NX can reside in your pocket.

The docking station will be sold separately at a reasonable price ($50-$70 includes additional controller) and when the NX is docked, the performance is increased as it has more power and games that streamed 720p on mobile devices are running at a native 1080p once docked. The NX console itself will be about the size of the New 3DS-XL folded closed and inside will have a small fan that spins up when it is docked.

Nintendo will at points in the NX life offer different type of Docking station shells...NES, SNES, N64, Gamecube, Wii and Wii-U as promotional items or limited availability.

For those without a mobile device, but still need it portable, Nintendo will offer a dedicated screen for the NX in two different sizes(smaller available at first) which just needs to be synced to the NX and is a very basic 720p display. $50 for the 5" and $70 for the 7".

Games will be on "Cartridges" the carts will be basically be dual cards in a fashion. The initial run will be 32GB+8GB. The 32GB portion will hold the game, while the 8GB portion will be for patches, DLC and game saves (which will also reside locally on the NX's system memory). Game prices will be $60 and the carts are like slightly smaller and thinner 3DS cards. 64GB+16GB and 128GB+32GB cards are also planned for larger games if needed.

The NX will retail for $250, just the NX box and the controller sides. It will have 64GB of built in storage and ability to use an SD-Card up to 512GB in size. The NX will come with an adapter for Micro-SD Cards.

Nintendo plans to have enough available that stores will be able to make bundles (Portable bundle with the screen, and a home bundle with the docking station and a prime bundle that includes both and a controller) and still have enough to sell the NX by itself.

On release day Nintendo plans to bring it biggest games from Wii-U to NX.

  • Smash Brothers (Port of Wii-U, with all DLC included and a proper story mode)
  • Mario Kart 8 (Port of the Wii-U, with all DLC included)
  • Splatoon (Port of the Wii-U)
  • Super Mario All-Stars Vol. 1 (Super Mario Bros. 1-3, World 1+2, Mario 64) *Pack-In game
  • Super Mario All-Stars Vol. 2 (Mario Sunshine, Galaxy 1+2, 3D World)
