Razer Ripsaw help

I recently bought a Razer Ripsaw capture card in order to stream from my Xbox One. For some reason, the only resolution that it will display on OBS is 1280 x 720. Anyone know why?

Also, while streaming I noticed that it seemed to look glitchy, or that it was skipping frames when I played my game (Destiny). It's not my internet speeds or anything, because when I preview the stream on OBS, without recording or streaming, it does the same thing.

Do I need to change my settings in OBS or on the capture device itself? If you have any suggestions, or more questions on my setup, please let me know!

Anybody else living still living in the technology dark ages?

I have a 32in 720p TV. No cable tv. An Xbox 360 with 2 Xbox games (Halo,NFS) Ipad 3 (SOOO slow thanks to iOS updates) PC running a whopping 1.4ghz processor

Gets worse... As I also have Netflix and Amazon Prime TV... But don't watch anything on them! (Watched Archer about six months ago on Netflix, have Amazon for their same day delivery)

I am a Neanderthal in modern times me thinks

Connecting XB360 Tritton headset to XBOX ONE (PLEASE HELP)

I just recently got an Xbox One. It came with the newer controller which features a 3.5 mm audio jack.

I have the Tritton AX-720 headset (multiplatform headset for PC/360/PS3). The audio cable for it is a 3.5 mm to 2.5 mm male-to-male. The 3.5 mm is required for the control module and so I obviously couldn't fit the 2.5 mm into the controller. Hence, I went out to get a male-to-male cable with 3.5 mm on both ends. I got it to plug in fine but the mic doesn't work.

The sound to the headset is perfect but I just can't get the mic to work. Any troubleshooting advice?

HD60 Pro delay when using 1080 in OBS, runs fine in 720

I've been trying to use my xbox one while running 1080p on my hd60 pro and I've been having issues with it.

If I try to run OBS with the HD60 Pro with 1080p, and the game has a slight delay. It makes most games just annoying to play. If I turn the settings down to 720p, no issues.

Anyone with a HD60 Pro that has figured out how to get 1080p to run fluently?

Best graphical xbox one game?

I recently bought a new headset, didn't work out, now i need some help with the next one.

Sorry in advance for this being a long post. I recently bought the tritton katana hd 7.1 and after a number of issues with the headset and support I am tired of dealing with it and have decided to return it. Now I'm looking for a headset to replace it and could use some information. The headset I had prior to this one was the steelseries wireless h (which I think is now the siberia 800) and the main issue I had with it was that the mic had problems picking up my voice (my voice is kind of deep). The one before that was the tritton ax pro+ which I gave to my friend since he was moving away and his mom broke his headset (he didn't have the money and I figured it was time to upgrade). The one before that was the tritton warhead which if you know what it is then you know why it didn't work for my xbox one. Before that was the astro a40..... I'll just stop fully explaining it there and say the ones before that were the tritton ax pro, ax 720, ax 360, turtlebeach x41, x31, x31, x31 (they fell apart one after the other).

The headsets I'm now looking at are the Astro a50, turtlebeach elite pro (coming out in June), turtlebeach 800x, and some others recommended to me by some friends. From what I understood the a50s while being an upgrade from the a40s, didn't change much for the microphone which was a slight problem. The elite pro was announced not too long ago and is the most expensive of the ones I looked at. The 800x doesn't have a mic like the rest which I've heard mixed reviews about. The turtlebeach headsets I've had in the past went from lasting one year, to falling apart in 3 weeks, so I'm kind of wary of trying their headsets again (although I have heard that the greatly improved their products). Any information or opinions about these headsets would be appreciated, but if you are recommending a different one please avoid headsets that run off the controllers battery (I've had some issues with headsets like that previously). My typical budget for gaming headsets is about $200-300, but the elite pro seems like it might be worth the asking price for what you can adjust with the tactical audio controller (especially the outbound microphone boost and background noise limiter).

[Story] The Glory I See in the Master Race

About 7 years ago, I had the experience to build my first computer, by myself. I was only 8 years old. Today, I am 16 years old, and am here to reflect on my glorious achievements as a true PC Master.

Never have I thought a computer as a gaming device in my childhood years, I thought the browser was the gateway, and pleasured myself with the original Xbox, and enjoyed the Xbox 360. Now I was not a non-gamer, mind you, one of my first passions was found on Knights of the Old Republic II, on the Xbox. Then, after I had built that computer, which, was not my property, I had an epiphany. I started watching more YouTube, as a 9 year old I watched many comedic youtubers (Where they had smaller audiences and great content), and then discovered the beginnings of minecraft, where yes, I was entertained. When I started playing Minecraft, I was on a computer, and also played Roblox with my little brothers (I had NO idea of the bigger games out there, at ALL...). Another concept I absolutely LOVED, was computer technology on YouTube, where I found LinusTechTips. When I had subscribed he was a side member at NCIX, in Canada. I watched many videos, and my father took me MicroCenter one day, where things escalated. There, I picked up two issues of Maximum PC and a single issue of PC Gamer. All 3 issues were centered around building a first, or capable gaming computer. There, I didn't need to read through the lines, everything click, everything from that first time just made 100% sense, despite me only being 10 years old.

The next year, my father and mother gave me a proposal: Build the absolute BEST gaming PC, for under $400. Now those 3 magazines helped, but only to a degree, as all of the gaming PCs in them...were not even close to budget oriented. It was 2011, and I was ready and excited as any 10 year old. Now in the day (yes, I must) there probably was not PcPartPicker or any similar tool used to easily compile a part list for price and compatibility. But my self just had it all planned: I picked up a brochure from my last time at MicroCenter, and spent the next few months researching, HOURS of my free time (All of it), the best combination. My first choices: AMD CPU with an NVIDIA GPU. I saw they performed fine for 720P60FPS on low settings. I also had my first 'valedictorian' moment, where I found out, the Radeon HD 6570, was priced exactly the same as the GT 630, at $70. With LOTS of research, and HEAVY patience, I found I could buy a motherboard, CPU, and the 6570 for $200. If you did the math correctly, I've got $200 left. Somehow, I did it, I crammed a $70 CPU and a $70 GPU into a $300 build, and by the luck of the master, found 8 Gigabytes of RAM for $25, and a hard drive for $80 (They were VERY expensive) and a PSU for $80...and a hand-me-down PacMan case for free, I cut close. Later that year I got a Wi-fi adapter, but I used Ethernet before it because of the $400 limit. When I built my FIRST personal computer, everything booted, and was configured rather nice, despite the case being out of standard for a modern PC in 2011.

My first upgrade was given on my birthday of 2012, an Antec GX700 rugged Mid ATX case. I did tons of research over the years, learned pretty much every aspect of building a standard PC, and lately dabbled in custom water cooling, I can build a custom water-cooled PC with little effort and with efficiency. On my birthday in 2015, I got my 2nd upgrade, where NVIDIA's maxwell lineup came out, and with that, one of my favorite games, the Witcher 3. I was given the gift of EVGA's GTX 960 FTW 4GB card, a 1080P Ultra BEAST. I knew exactly what a bottleneck was, but NEVER thought the effects would be this bad. For a whole year I had to live under 30 FPS and stuttering and overheating, especially on low settings and low resolution. I found an inverse effect, where I could run some games fine on 2560x1440 using DSR. Now Christmas of 2015, I received the Skylake dream, a Z170 motherboard and 8 Gigabytes of DDR4, for a Skylake beast. I only had to wait till May of 2016, on my birthday, to receive the King: The Intel Core i5-6500 Little did I know, I would win the Silicon lottery.

For a day, I spent time in an artisan craft...cleaning and deconstructing my computer. Then came the installations: Again, my expert knowledge, while still a 16 year boy, had my PC running perfect on the first try, and saw no obstacles that I couldn't overcome.

Currently, my PC's side panel is still open. I see my CPU and GFX card eating the games I throw at it for Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner. Before, with my bottleneck, my Athlon ran at around 45-50 degrees Celsius on idle, with my graphics card running rather cool, under 70 degrees on 100% load (Though it ran at 100 very rarely) despite a 1367MHz boost clock. I look at thermals, and find temperatures at 24 degrees on idle for the CPU, using the standard preset of the Intel Stock cooler. My GPU, running equally cool with 25% fan speed (I set a custom fan curve, so my fans never went above 50% to stay quiet, and still kept the card cool). I turn on Battlefield 4, turn the game up to Ultra, turn the resolution scale to 150% (2560x1440) and watch as load gets higher, and temperatures doubling for the CPU, yes, doubling. ONLY DOUBLING, I was running at 50 degrees celsius under load on an Intel Core i5-6500 running at 3.2GHz. I push in the 3.10 version of BIOS, where my AsRock motherboard still supports SkyOC, I overclock: 4.4 GHz on an Intel stock cooler...and under 75 degrees under load on Battlefield 4, Battlefield 3, the Witcher 3, Far Cry 4, and (of course) CSGO. Today, at 16 year old, I sit with a near perfect 1080P60FPS Ultra gaming PC build that runs cool and quiet on stock clocks and voltages, barely draws power from the wall, and absolutely satisfies. I cannot wait to progress, I'm thinking a new case, CPU cooler, SSD, and a new monitor.

Hey Agents! I have really awesome news! /u/Tullino and his team has been making an unofficial Division companion app. It is really awesome and will be releasing in less than a week, right now with many other users we are in the early access program to see how it runs and to try it out. So far I really really like it and it is simple and easy to use.

They are hearing our feedback and catering to our needs which is amazing. I really see potential for this app, most of the LFG sites are dead, but in the one day that I’ve been using this, I made five friends, played with some of them and had many discussions about the game.

Once you start up the app it connects to your profile (after creating one no passwords from xbox/psn/pc is needed creating an account is purely to have a screen name so don’t worry :P)

After that you can see all the groups that you are in and the private chats you have going on with other users. A gold dot notification to the left will show with those with new messages.

You can see your profile, upload a picture, set a status for yourself for everyone to see, create your own group and look for players.

Creating a group or joining an existing group is very easy. You can scroll through the current groups that are up and join them instantly. You can easliy create any group that you want for example I made r/TheDivision so I can update people on what’s the hottest posts or upcoming tips since I browse New as a mod and see things that would be greta for someone to know. You can share the link to your group just about anywhere and see all the users who have joined your group. Messaging runs very smoothly and you can turn notifications on or off for which groups you choose to. You are able to send pictures and voice messages to any group and/or private messages

If you’ve been gone for a bit you can see the new messages that you might of missed like this Also using the @ sign will bring all the members and notify you if anyone mentioned your name. Notifications look great as well and it shows what group was that message from.

Now onto the LFG part of the app, which first of all is completely insane :) All you do is hold up your phone to the screen and it gets the information for you! Now people can lie about some builds if you worry about that. Going on the LFG tab will bring you up with this you can easily filter to your liking or create your own post. Once you have completed your post you can include your build and it will look something like this

This app is awesome once again, and I am very happy to be a part of it. I highly recommend especially with the upcoming update, you will need all the agents that you can get for help :)

PC vs Console Gaming

TRIGGER WARNING

Both the PS4 and Xbox One are not underpowered or overpriced for what they do. Games preform better on a $300 console than a prebuilt $300 PC in almost every case, and the latest GPU may run the newest game in 2016 far better than a console, but in 5 years, the console will possibly outperform the GPU on a game released in 2021. Because consoles must be supported for such a long time, optimization for them allows the significantly weaker GPU inside to run the game better than a GPU that technically outperforms it, which can hurt the longevity of a custom built PC.

PC Gaming:

Pros:

Can be used as a PC (Work, school, programs, editing, etc.)
Games are typically cheaper and have a large variety of markets (Steam, Origin, Humble Bundle, G2A, etc.)
Games from 20+ years ago still are compatible (VMWare, DOS Box, Mini vMac)
Run unapproved games and software
Free online access and services
Choose your own pieces (can be self-repaired)
Can run Linux, Windows, and sometimes OS X* (*if you’re willing to do some work)
Run any resolution (720p, 1080p, 1440p, 4K) with 60 FPS with the correct GPU, CPU, and RAM.
Mod or hack games
Get both console’s exclusives (eventually)
Huge variety of free titles and indie games

Cons:

Expensive (~450 USD for the PC minimum)
Require a basic understanding of computers
Outdated within 3-4 years with the latest mid-tier GPU

Advice Needed: Looking for 1080P, Minimum 2 HDMI, and 3.5mm audio out, sub $300 budget

Sorry for the awful title, just wanted to fit in everything.

I am looking for a single monitor to pair with my laptop while I do some programming, internet browsing, and/or netflix. The monitor would also be used for some light gaming on Xbox One. I currently use a 720p TV for this purpose and its very dark while gaming, yellow while watching Netflix, and blurry while trying to program. I am thinking about building my own PC so I'd like to future proof the monitor for the PC.

My main requirements are:

1080p resolution (at a minimum, wouldn't be adverse to 1440p at the right price)
2 HDMI inputs or more (one for laptop, one for Xbox One so that I don't have to a lot space for a switch)
3.5mm audio out for headphone jack

I live with roommates that I don't want to disturb with audio coming from my laptop or the Xbox One. For the laptop, that's fine since I can just set it to output audio through its headphone jack instead of HDMI but unfortunately, I can't get the Xbox One to cooperate. You're supposed to be able to plug whatever headphones into the controller and hear the audio but I use the provided chat headset and the only thing I can hear through that is other people who are chatting, the game audio itself still plays through my TV speakers which I do not want it to. I've just worked with the ghetto solution of having the chat audio in one hear while using headphones from the TV to supply the game audio to the other ear. I know you can get a DAC to do SPDIF out from the Xbox One to 3.5mm out but that sacrifices some of the already quaint desk space that I have. I am not sure if a proper gaming headset would handle both of these functions in one, or if it would work fine just by plugging it into the Xbox One controller.

In terms of desk space, the monitor will sit on a stand that's located above the Xbox One, and I think I could probably fit a 27" monitor at the most.

The HP 27xw is on sale at my local Costco for $170 but it doesn't have audio out, which really sucks because I would have bought it on the spot. My budget is up to $300 and the next one I was looking at is this ASUS VX24AH 1440p but its bit on the pricier side. There's also this Dell U2414H or this ASUS MX259H.

I am also not sure if I need something with G-Sync/FreeSync, nor does it need to be VESA compatible, but I do believe that I would prefer IPS over TN, even if that means somewhat compromising on performance. Any suggestions?

Yet another Oculus Rift review

FIRST USE: When I first opened the box I was stunned by the quality, even though I've poured over the pictures many times before.

The camera is a work of art and the rift feels great. Though I generally find all black kinda oppressive to live with. Looks like the box could be modded to accommodate touch if you didn't want to store the cameras in there. I store the Rift in the box as you can push the strap back in and fit it in there.

My first 20min were marred by fogging, it was 23c in my room and the box was in there for a few hours. I plug my Rift in before use now so it warms up.

AUDIO: My impression is that the headphones are generally clear and neutral with a mid bass hump and also they lack some bass extension, treble extension and some detail compared to some entry level audiophile cans I have. (sennheiser amperior, Phillips fidelio L2) IIRC They are excellent compared to headphones of a similar type I've owned however. (Senn. px100 I/II?) Wouldn't be surprise if they compensate for the drivers characteristics in software (EQ).

Positional audio works well but it's a subtle effect.

COMFORT: Way more important than I expected, its basically at a minimum level for casual use, especially stuff like watching TV/movies.

Wearing the headset still feels claustrophobic and can get hot and humid. The headset distributes weight well and manages to not be particularly offensive in any way.

The fact that it takes about a second to pull on/off with no further adjustment really helps when you're going too and from the monitor or taking a drink. The Rift also lifts up and rests on your forehead quite well.

Adjustments take a while to get right, I use very little tension on the side and take a lot of the weight on the top strap, I don't get Oculus face like this. But I do get a reverse mohican, Nose gap is not really usable for me #bignosemasterrace

The headphones have almost no clamping force, and are easy to remove. I gave up trying my own headphones after a short period though, the extra stuff on top of your head and not being able to on/off quickly make it not worth it for the majority of the time.

VISUALS: Scale and depth are incredible. My favorite are things like Dreamdeck toytown, foxholes in Luckeys Tail or the Farland spaceship. Things which are small close and have detail look incredible. Colors a brilliant. Contrast and brightness are good.

90hz is amazing, everything is butter smooth and that helps make the virtual world rock solid.

The biggest issue is the resolution. In some experiences like Dreamdeck you might not notice at all, but in Assetto Corsa or Eve where you're looking into the distance things can look pixelated (however resolution is totally adequate for seeing where you're going in Assetto Coarsa). With closer objects you tend to see a general blurriness or lack of definition.

In Virtual Desktop with the screen taking up 100% of your FOV the perceived resolution is about 720p. This makes sense as the screens are 1080 wide with some additional stereo overlap. However the is also smooth and not as pixelated as a 720p monitor might be.

FOV is the second biggest issue, you tend not to notice it but an improvement in this area would really improve the experience. IPD adjustment helps you get full width, go as wide as you can without getting blurry visuals IMO

Godrays are not a major issue for me, they are worst on the periphery in dark/black scenes with bright elements. The loading hourglass is the biggest offender here (its in the corner of your vision).

Red tint is simply not an issue for me, only noticeable somr in total black scenes, slightly more in right than left and more of a speckle than tint.

There is some slight pupil swim, geometry shifting as you look around. Unlikely to notice unless you look for it and not noticeable all the time.

TRACKING: My play area is about 1.5m x 1.5m. Tracking performs well in this range with no glitches whatsoever. When pushing the tracking distance you can get wobble, which is much more likely when turned away from the camera (minor shifting starting around 1.5m-2m depending on orientation). I play with the camera on top of my computer, so just below head height and pointed down, this gives great coverage.

RELIABILITY/EASE OF USE: Both rock solid except for some weird non-responsive Xbox controller issue that occasionally pops up, solved by reboot.

MOTION SICKNESS: I'm very lucky in that I seem immune to this, got a slight woosey feeling in Eve on the first playthrough, now I'm rock solid. Yaw is no problem in Technolust.

TOUCH: For some reason I don't feel like I need my hands there, however I'm definitely looking forward to this, I think having agency in the world as well as more focus on objects in the nearfield (where VR excels IMO) will be amazing.

EVE: I'm liking this a lot more that other people seem to, the dogfighting is fun for me, basically a FPS in 3 dimensions. Arching your neck to keep track of your enemy is awesome. Visually its not as great as I imagined. How long should I wait before trying ED: Arena???

ASSETTO CORSA: It's incredible, it feels like some blurry video version of reality (try cruising round the Nurburgring OMG!), the car models are jaw dropping, I've been able to look into a Ferrari engine bay and lean over to see the push pull rods operated from the gear shift, stuff you'd never see on a monitor! This is a game that would benefit from wider FOV, RH side mirrors are a bit hard to check, obviously a bit trickey looking to your right in a left hand drive car. Looking over your shoulder is great in cars that allow it (ie single seater).

SHOWDOWN: Even after playing through Dreamdeck this made me exclaim "HOLY FUCK!" Would love some more experiences like these!

VIRTUAL DESKTOP: Looks better than bigscreen. 3D movies amazing, Oculus computer room, by far the most presence inducing, has me reaching out for virtual objects to make sure their not real. Other experiences haven't done that to me.

SKETCHFAB: Not very interesting but Van Goghs room is very presence inducing because of the really nice lighting like the above, the human model is also awesome.

Sightline the chair: The only must have thats not on a store (from what I've tried).

BEST Depth/scale effect, things close to you Tracking 90hz, smoothness build quality Ease of use and reliability

WORST Resolution FOV Comfort (Yes this is a negative, even though they've done so well.) Not being able to see whats around you IRL Waiting for touch?

Best PLEX Client with minimal need of Transcoding?

Hi I know it is a long posting, but it is better that you see what I already tried and maybe someone else can be helped with a similar problem :)

Sooo...Whats the best client with a minimal need of transcoding for TV? I want to relief my server as much as possible, as transcoding decrases the quality significantly and then I may can use it for more different things as the CPU isn't using about 50-100% of its power. Now I usually stream movies over the PS4 App, but it is just a worse version of the android app. The built in player can just play at 4.0 level and if you force 4.1 then there are visually glitches. For series I usually use the Chromecast, as many are 720p or lower and for most series I don't care about surround.

Transcoding audio is ok, though I'm trying to avoid it for the video stream as there is a visual difference and with some movies it's stuttering (i.e. Mad Max Fury Road).

So what would be the best thin client, without needing of transcoding mkv 1080p material?

What I already tried:

Chrome: already have it and the server has to transcode a lot and surround seems to be the lowest quality if even there is one. I mainly watch series with it.
Amazon Fire TV Stick: Also already tried it and was dissapointed, as it a worser Plex App then the android one (i.e. no option for using external player as the time of testing). Also very limited surround capabilities, also just 4.0 profile and many of my movies are 4.1.
PS3, PS4, XBOX One App: completly the same as Amazon Fire TV Stick.

I am about that far with the research:

Intel Compute Stick: with windows 10 and the plex desktop client, as it can use DXVA but can it use QuickSync and is surround possible? How to remote controll it easily without struggling that there is another windows PC I need regulary to maintanence.
Android Client: with the option of using MX Player as external Playing app as it can use the hardware decoder better then the native plex player. though I also dont know how to remote controll it as Android seems to work best for touch interfaces
Intel NUC or a mini PC: Best playing options as far as I know, but has to maintenance it (windows) and don't know how to easily remote controll it. Also booting time is again a problem.

Are there any other clients or optionsthere may work?

found a way to fix the input lag on xbox one!

so i came on fifa today and for some reason everything felt weird and slow. i did some digging and i ended up changing my xbox tv setting from 1080p to 720p and my god it's so much smoother!! everything feels 100% faster and i haven't played a game yet where i've noticed input lag. if you're having the same issue try it!

Will Xbox one ark ever look good? Graphically

[tech] Does anyone have experience playing downloaded video files through their TV (via Xbox One, 360 or just TV's with USB ports)? If so, help needed

I realize this isn't strictly an Xbox One topic but I need some assistance rather urgently, and furthermore I do pose an Xbox One related question at the end of my post (so please be sure to read to the bottom). This is also a favor for my parents who spend a lot of time watching shows using this method, so any help will be greatly appreciated.

My parents live in a rural community that makes streaming shows very difficult due to poor internet service. Options like Netflix simply aren't possible based on their internet speed. They also don't like to sit through commercials using regular TV, so they often "obtain" TV shows by downloading files overnight (which usually come in within 24-48 hours of initiating the download). With that said, my parents also love to watch these shows using a TV, so they tend to copy the files over to a flashdrive. This is where the help is needed.

Many times, the files they download will not play on their TV. They currently use two methods: first, they try through their Xbox 360, which often spits out error messages (which I assume are related to the file extensions, which are often .MKV). Second, they have a TV they use with its own USB slot, however when downloading "popular" TV shows (typically .MKV files), the shows will stutter every 7-10 seconds. They do know not to download Bluray quality files, sticking to 720p or worse in terms of quality.

My question is: does anyone know why they are experiencing problems? And furthermore, would upgrading to an Xbox One (which is up-to-date technology - their Xbox 360 and TV are likely out of date by now) help their situation? To reiterate, they need to be able to watch their TV shows through their TV - having them both crowd around a laptop simply isn't viable. I also haven't floated the idea of connecting their laptop up via HDMI - would this be easiest...? They use a big screen TV and their laptops are not very powerful (probably retailing for <$500), and the feasibility of transporting a laptop back and forth as well as operating the laptop without a proper table isn't very appropriate given their age. Having them use a console is ideal because they can operate it via remote from a couch, as mobility for them is a problem.

I can provide more information if required, and again, this would be greatly appreciated. My Mom is soon going to be bed-ridden for a number of weeks due to a surgery and I'd really like to find a solution so they can watch TV without suffering through these problems. If it means buying them an Xbox One so the file extensions will work, that will be my plan, I just don't know if this will help.

HDMI INPUT / Resolution

I hope I got the right sub (never use the search function -_-)

My PC is all self built, but it's not a killer. I.E. Dual core performance rated at 5.4GHZ processor (amd); 3 GBs of DDR2 800 mhz ram; Mother board (gigabyte) Model: M61PME-S2P

OS: windows 7 ultimate

I recently bough a new video card (MSI Radeon HD5450 Pcie 1GB DDR3 HDmi Dvi VGA). I like the HDMI input because of I can output my audio via my TV through speakers for my PC and whispers xbox 360 console.

The only game I play is CS 1.6. so I am don't need much more.

Everything works, I reformatted my drive and did fresh install of windows. There no real issue (clean diver install) that I am aware of but I noticed it lags detecting the HMDI input, and resolution changes at specific point during boot process. (typically 1280x720 DI to 13**x768 AN) then back to original digital resolution. I believe I remember it doing similar with my DVI based card (previous) but without input delay. I clean my PC regularly of dust, wires are tied down, temperature is pretty normal. Power is good. Burner works.

and by delay I mean. 15 to 30 seconds before you get the input display and runs start up procedure (no issues, or warnings. I am use to it kicking in within 2 seconds. I am hoping it native to the video card itself.

I guess my question:

1) Is this a common thing with using hmdi on a PC video card. Is there possibly conflict with my on board audio? It boots to windows every time.

2) is the resolution change normal? I am guessing windows has a standard analog configuration so start up screens might not configure for digital display, so it resorts to switch to analog at those points (though my understanding there are specific resolutions for DI - So I am not sure how it doing the x768)....but I find it a bit odd that boot screen is fine with digital. Using a VGA cable the delay is gone too. If there was a problem with the card I suspect it would happen to both...I am no expert though.

I feel like I am being overtly cautious, but all my knowledge is on self taught basis, so there maybe a few things I am not aware of simply because I never experienced it. One thing was the DDR3 of the video card but couldn't find anything on the internet saying it's bad, I just go by PCIe x16 spec. Nothing in my MB manual saying anything, neither the individual at the store said anything.
