As rumors have stated, we are most likely going to witness something really unique in the console side of gaming which is a .5 generation. This decision is derived from the fact that the PS4 and the Xbox One simply do not have the necessary horsepower to to handle powerful games on high definition. By now, consoles should easily handle detailed games in 1080P 60fps. However, we are witnessing games that are downgraded to 720P 30fps. If a game manages to achieve 1080P, the developers are usually praised for such an accomplishment while this resolution is the norm. As a result, we have been introduced to the rumors of the PS4.5 or PS4K and Xbox.5.
It is advertised that these consoles will be able to achieve 4K gaming. Sony and Microsoft are asking us to purchase new consoles to achieve next gen gaming that our current consoles should have been able to achieve. I am very disappointed in Sony and Microsoft for now created consoles for us that can at least easily achieve 1080P 45-60 fps but you know what they say better late than never. I would be happy with those consoles in under one condition. That condition is if our current consoles can help us get the next .5 consoles. For instance, back in Call of Duty:Ghosts, Infinity Ward created the game for the Xbox 360 and the PS3 and you have the option to pay only $10 for an Xbox One or a PS4 upgrade. I want the same to apply for the next consoles. If I have the option of trading in my PS4 and pay a maximum of $100 then I am satisfied and fine with the consoles. If they ask for more I would rather put that money into the PC that I will be buying late this year or early next year. Let us not forget that we should have had the option of at least 1080P with these consoles. Let us face it, knowing the corrupt businesses now a days, they would ask for a huge amount of money for a feature that we should already have. After all, if consoles knew the horsepower on these consoles are weak why would they release them instead of upgrading the consoles?
