I got a 2015 Vizio M50-C1. I have TWC cable going into my Xbox One and then out to the TV. Typically this would be fine but not with a 4k TV. 4K TVs scale any video input to 4K. The issue is my Xbox One is set to 1080p, so the TV thinks the input is 1080p and scales it accordingly. But not every channel is in 1080p, in fact the highest resolution I can get with TWC is 1080i. So instead of the TV seeing that the image is 1080i or 720p it can't scale it properly because it's using the resolution of the Xbox One which is 1080p. So the image looks really bad if it ever dips below 1080i.
I've had to put my cable box into another HDMI port on my TV so it can scale it properly and the image looks a lot better. The downside is I have to use 3 remotes versus the Xbox One media remote to control it all through the Kinect. Is there a solution to this so the video resolution that gets passed in and also gets passed out? I can't be the only one with a 4k TV having this issue.
