Can you help me get higher definition than 720p?

I have a standard Xbox one, and a HP ZR2740W monitor. Unfortunately for me, the monitor does not have an HDMI input, and the Xbox outputs HDMI. The only thing that has worked so far is using an Amazon Basics HDMI-to-DVI cable, but the only setting on the Xbox which works is setting it to DVI and 720p. 1080p Setting does not display anything on the screen, and the 640 setting works but is unacceptable. The Startech active HDMI to Displayport adapter did not work at all on any setting. The Xbox is capable of outputting higher resolutions than 720p, and the monitor has a native resolution of 2560 x 1440 with a refresh rate of 60hz. HDMI, DVI, and Displayport all support at least 1080p. But I can't get better than 720p. What's going on here?
