HDTVs have a setting called Game Mode which lowers the quality of your graphics slightly and gives you increased performance(less input lag and less lag on explosions type thing). So if your graphics look bad but the game is handling pretty well for you then you might need to turn Game Mode Off.
Another issue is 720P vs 1080P, make sure you are set to 1080P quality by heading to the settings on your Xbox One and choosing Display/Video. Changing 24bit color to 36bit color should make things look better as well.
Other options are messing around with the contrast/brightness on your TV and messing around with the color temperature on your TV.
Hope this helps someone. I originally thought Halo 5 graphics looked like crap until I changed a bunch of settings, now I think it looks pretty decent.
