The problem.

So I have no problem with consoles in general. I do dislike the hold Sony and M$ have over gaming though, and their own consoles. For example, you do not technically own your console, and it can be deactivated at any time. (read the paperwork that came with your console)

Paying for online multiplayer is ridiculous. The xbox live and PSN provide less features, and higher prices for games than PC. I also find anyone that thinks consoles are the superior platform to be a brainwashed lunatic. You're paying $300-$400 for hardware that was old 6 years ago. I just don't see the appeal of a console. Ease of use? How? PC simply does everything better. It always will.

Don't get me wrong, I've had some wonderful times on my PSX N64, PS2, and original XboX (especially halo lan parties) not to mention my original NES, SNES. SOme of the best games I ever played were on the SNES and PSX. But they keep pushing consoles in the direction of PCs, trying to emulate the ease of use of a PC. You end up spending more money on a console than a $500-$600 PC. So why not just make the switch already? Sure the PCMR can be a bunch of assholes, sometimes I am one of them. But you can't say console peasants are any better in that regard.

So WHY!? Why keep giving in to the demands of your console handlers (M$ Sony)?

Note: The definition of a console peasant by the PCMR Peasant - One who idolizes, sympathizes, defends, or otherwise shills for Sony and Microsoft and their consoles. One who spews peasant 'facts' may also fall into peasantry. Such 'facts' include claims about 30FPS being adequate, 720p being adequate, and other console marketing lies.
