I'm a long-time Tritton AX 720 Pro user and I'm transferring over to my first pair of Astro A40s. Although I'm aware the m80 mixamp was designed for the XB1, I wanted the mixamp pro so I bought the bundle on prime day.
I was aware that I would need the xbox chat adapter (which I have). I was able to hook everything up; the game sound is great, but I'm having problems getting my chat working. I have a 2.5mm to 3.5mm chat cable. With tritton's headsets, the 3.5mm end plugs into the mixamp and the 2.5mm end plugs into the xbox cable adapter, which then plugs into the chat adapter.
The astro mixamp requires the 2.5mm end to be plugged into the mixamp. I did that, but now the 3.5mm end is obviously too large for the female 2.5mm end of the xbox one cable adapter. I tried just bypassing the the cable adapter altogether and plugging the 3.5mm end of the chat cable into the chat adapter, but that doesn't work (I'm guessing because the 3.5mm end chat cable is 2 ringed and the xbox one chat cable is 3 ringed).
Is there a specific adapter or cable I can buy to get my chat working properly? With the cables I have, my tritton headset works fine, but my astros do not pick up my voice signal at all. I assume this may be easier to understand with some photos. I'm more than happy to take some if that will assist in finding a solution.
