Making the switch to a Nexus 6 from a Samsung Galaxy S6. Thoughts?

Samsung Galaxy Note 5 Gsmarena

I have been a strong supporter of the Samsung Galaxy Note line of phones on Verizon since they came out. After upgrading to the Note 3 and using that until late last year, I decided to try out a smaller phone. I used one of my family lines with a buddy upgrade and got a Samsung Galaxy S6. At the time, I was pretty happy with my purchase.

As time has went on, I have been missing the larger screen of the Note line of phones. I really didn't want to go back to a Note 3 or Note 4 though. I wasn't using the stylus. The touchwiz is ok, but I don't think its that cool. I wasn't using the multi-window either. The IR Blaster is something I am not using either. Then, if I went with the Note 3 or 4, I would lose wireless charging.

On top of all this, I decided I wanted to start rooting again. For many of you who know, Samsung really locks the hell out of their devices. Tripping the Knoxx value really does suck a big one. I stayed away from upgrading to the Note 4 because it is such a bear to root. I was ok with the Samsung Galaxy S6 without root, but since I want the larger screen back, I was stuck in an unfriendly place.

Since I didn't want a Note line of phones, what was I to do?

I placed a call to a friend of mine who works at a Verizon store and went in to see him. We talked about the LG G4 and the Nexus 6. After playing with the Nexus 6 for about 10 minutes, I was hooked. Stock Android 5.11? I can start using Nova Launcher again if I want. I can also root the heck out of this phone if I so choose.

I did a little benchmark testing and camera testing. The camera isn't as quick as on the Galaxy S6, but I can live with that. The phone seemed to be ultra responsive and I get my large screen back again. I really didn't play many games on it, but all the ones I played seemed to run very quickly.

I placed an order for the Nexus 6. Now I am hopeful that it will be fast enough for my needs. Any thoughts? Any tips prior to the phone getting here tomorrow?

I am on Verizon if it matters.
