The on paper performance of the CPU and GPU of the PS4 That I made.

I took the time to calculate the performance of the CPU and GPU of the PS4. I was able to quantify the performance into scores that can be compared to off the shelf PC parts. The unit of measure is in points that the site http://www.passmark.com/index.html uses for bench marking components with their performance test benchmark.

For calculating the GPU i found that it is based on the architecture of the HD 7870. I looked at its score of 4260 and took in the Clock speed and number of shaders in account The GPU of the PS4 scores 3100. Roughly the same as a GTX 750 at 3250.

For calculating the CPU i took the score of an 8 core AMD CPU the 8350 of 9000 and divided it by 2.5. The ratio of 4.0GHZ to 1.6GHZ.

The CPU of the PS4 scores 3600. the same as a Intel Pentium G3460 @ 3.50GHz

Remember, This is all theoretical on paper and is not completely accurate. (its pretty accurate though) Things like API, Thermal throttling, RAM, condition, ETC are not accounted for.
