Help picking a CRT: resolution and size

Hello all! I'm a long time gamer but new to CRT collecting. I want to purchase a CRT to play with my Xbox 360 but I am unsure what resolution to look for.

The issues I have is with the variety of resolutions: from Fable at 480, Halo 3 at 640, Dark Souls at 720, etc. I've heard playing "low" resolution games on a "high" resolution CRT will force an upscale that looks bad. On the other hand, would I be missing out playing a 720 game on a 480 TV?

Also, do you think a 27" CRT would be large enough to support 4-player splitscreen?
