Differences Between Dark Souls and Dark Souls Remastered - IGN

The narrative below was taken from IGN's article ( http://uk.ign.com/articles/2018/04/03/here-are-all-the-differences-between-dark-souls-and-dark-souls-remastered ):

Graphics

Dark Souls Remastered will have a 4K resolution with a compatible TV/monitor at 60fps on the Xbox One X, PS4 Pro and PC. It will display upscaled 4K resolution on PS4 Pro and Xbox One, while the PC version will be native 4K. PS4 and Xbox One – 1080p resolution at 60fps.

On the Switch, it will have a 1080p resolution at 30fps when docked to TV, and 720p resolution at 30fps when in handheld mode.

Online Multiplayer

The maximum number of players online has increased from 4 to 6.

The Dried Finger item will be needed to play with 6 players.

The Dried Finger has been moved from the Painted World of Ariamis level to the Undead Burg merchant to be obtainable earlier in the game. The Dried Finger location in the Painted World has been replaced with a Twin Humanities item.

Password Matchmaking is now available, similar to Dark Souls 3. When a player is summoned in Password Matchmaking the player level will be synced.

It's now easier for friends to be matched with each other. When the guest player’s character level and weapon is higher than that of the host player, the level will be adjusted accordingly.

Healing items will not be available during PvP with the exception of Estus Flasks. To prevent long and drawn out battles, the number of Estus Flasks is halved for phantoms.

When a player defeats an invading phantom, their Estus Flask is restored.

Players can turn on/off global matchmaking

Players can now prevent matched Red Phantoms from seeing their “White Sign Soapstone” sign

Players can no longer summon ally phantoms consecutively when in combat with enemy phantoms.

In online play, players who are outside of the host’s parameter range will not be matched with each other (the players can still be matched via Password Matching).

Arena

3v3 and 6-player deathmatch have been added.

Arena battles can also use Password Matching.

Respawn points will be random.

Everything Else

Players can select the number of usable items, such as consumable souls or covenant items, to use instead of one at a time as in the original game.

The number of languages has been increased to the number found in Dark Souls 3.

A Bonfire has been added next to Vamos the Blacksmith.

Covenants can be switched at Bonfires.

Button configuration is available.

Items will not automatically be registered into an item slot when picked up.

When the up or down directional pad button is held down, the first item equipped will be selected.

The online network has been changed from P2P to dedicated servers.

Game Crashes

Ok, I've tried the Blizzard tech support line and nothing. About 2 weeks ago, my SCII worked fine. Today, Heroes of the Storm works fine. However, now, when I load up SCII the game crashes as soon as I click "Play game" from the client.

Points of interest:

  • Resolution is weird at 1768x992 (but that's because I have a weird tv and have connected my comp to it via HDMI).

  • I've updated my video drivers (nvidia geforce gtx 750 ti)

  • I run Windows 10

  • The problem started in the last 2 weeks with an update of SCII, an update of Windows 10, and an installation of Diablo/Hellfire (with tweaking of settings I can't remember anymore)

  • I've tried a clean reinstall of my video drivers

  • I've tried the display modes in the command code of settings in the Blizzard client for SCII

  • I've tried various resolutions, and the only one that works makes my tv screen a horror show (1280 x 720)

  • I've turned off overlays in GEforce

  • I've tried optimizing and not optimizing SCII in GEforce

  • I've shut off the XBox streaming things or whatever

  • I think that may be all, but I could've forgotten a solution that was tried.

.....Anyone have any ideas how I can play SCII? Or should I just wait till the new comp I'm buying this summer?

For my clarification, were you able to get through to our tech support?

Help, please god I have so many problems with the game.

Okay, so yesterday afternoon I saw the game was on sale on steam and purchased the XL edition after this being one of my all time favorite games on Xbox One. I installed the game which took about 4 hours, and hopped on to launch it and play it, and the game made it to the first loading screen after the beach scene and just crashed my whole computer. I had to leave for work anyway just after this happened, so I did, came back later that day to play and hope I didn't have the same problem. I launched it, and it seemed to endlessly load on this first loading screen, until I tried to Alt+Tab when it instantly crashed my whole computer again. I restarted my PC eager to play the game, and found it uninstalled according to Steam, but the space on my computer was still taken up. I would verify the integrity of the game files but it doesn't give me the option due to the fact the game is UNINSTALLED. I cant even try and reinstall the already installed game due to lack of space! Please could someone give me some sort of fix.

Note: Game seems to be running in a lower resolution than it should be, seeming to run at 1280x720 by my guess compared it should be running at 1920x1080.

Can someone help me decide between pc and xbox?

Hey there fellow gamers. I need some help deciding which platform should I download fortnite on.

I have a laptop with i5-4200 CPU @1.60Ghz (4 CPU) ~2.3Ghz 4 GB ram

Display Intel hd and ati radeon hd 8600m 1 gb

Or the Xbox one with the stupid controller.

The reason I lean a bit towards PC is because of the keyboard and mouse. I can settle for a 720p 30 fps rate.

Any help regarding this is appreciated.
