TV or Monitor?

So, I've been looking at upgrading my TV (currently a 720p 32" plasma, which is not too great) and had a thought.

What if I were to buy a 42"(ish) Monitor to use as a TV?

I do not actually watch TV (freeview), all of my media consumption comes from a Chromecast, or possibly my xBox (which also can be used to watch TV, as I have an adapter to use xBox TV, or whatever it is called).

Also, a monitor is highly likely to have a far superior response time, similar or better refresh rate, and similar resolution (I'm looking at 4k).

What is your opinions?
