I've got two options for displaying my Xbox and Wii until I pick up a CRT computer monitor or manage to find a multiformat PVM. I could display them at 480i on a consumer set (KV-24FS100), or I could connect them to my 32-inch LCD (KDL-32S3000) where the 480p signal would be upscaled to 720p.
Do you prefer the softer edges and better colors of a 480i image on a CRT or the better clarity and sharper edges of an upscaled 480p image?
Follow-up question, what do you think of anamorphic widescreen? I've compared games in their 4:3 and 16:9 modes on my LCD and the non-widescreen images usually look clearer to my eyes, and I'm wondering if anyone else feels the same.
