Quantum Break on the PC appears to be another broken mess of a port

https://twitter.com/ultrabrilliant/status/717290900720893952

The Quantum Break PC port is giving me flashbacks to pre-patch Arkham Knight.

That was from Andy Kelly of PC Gamer, who is currently playing the PC port of the game. He has since updated his status to mention that performance suddenly got better for him

Another tweet regarding sub-30fps performance on a GTX 980

Other reports so far mention there is no way to quit the game from the menu (update: you can fix this by moving your mouse into the top-right corner and wait for the X to appear - no word yet if this is possible with just a controller) and due to UWP, there is no vsync or gysnc support for the game until the Windows 10 Store updates next month.

For now, be careful about ordering this game on the PC until more information surfaces. I'll try to keep this thread updated.

Edit: The game has now been released on the Windows Store, so more impressions will be posted shortly. If you have bought this game, then please also contribute to this thread, so we can get a better understanding of what is happening. From the evidence so far, the game has random performance issues throughout the game, for unknown reasons. Again, I'll keep updating this thread as we find out more.

Here are some more impressions, as I find them:

"Quantum Break PC performance: Running fine, Windows Store flaws aside"

PCWorld

"Really bad. Anything above 1080p is a slide show. VRAM usage goes upto 5GB. Game is using same reconstruction technique that is being used on Xbox one. So in a way, if you play at 1080p, then you are probably getting 720p res with AA, probably MSAA considering that's what they use on Xbox One. Simiarly, at 1440p, it probably around 960p with AA, and 4k means 1440p with AA."
