New User Questions

Hey all! I want to apologize in advance if these questions have been asked elsewhere.

My boyfriend and I are paying close to $250 for a cable/internet package with Comcast. Neither of us watch a ton of TV and a lot of the channels we get go unwatched. Every channel we watch (Cartoon Network, AMC, Disney, Nick, FX) is available on the lowest tier of the Vue which makes this a fantastic deal in our eyes. We have a few concerns about it and I don't think that any other thread really goes over in much detail.

1) Quality and Consistency of Service. I've seen 720p30 as being the expectation, which seems fine for our standards, but the concern depends on the consistency of the experience. Has the experience seemed consistent? If there are inconsistencies, how do they manifest? Glitches, blackouts, 'de-res', whatever.

2) DVR/On-Demand Services. I'm kind of confused on how this works exactly. I'm assuming only SOME channels allow for On-Demand but you can DVR whatever you want? Does the DVR function even when the device is off? Is the quality of the recording tied to your internet service at the time, even when the device is off?

3) Input-Through Xbox One. Our current set up is that we have our cable box go through our Xbox to go through our TV. We most likely will continue to do it this way. It would be my best assumption that Kinect does not operate at all with it. Has anyone done anything similar and noted any interesting behavior?

4) Future Outlook. The service does seem to have its bugs, but its only been a month or so. Looking at it now, for current users, does this seem like a service that Sony will invest time and money into? This seems like a weird question to ask but I suppose the bigger question I want to ask is "Will it get better from here?"

5) Anything else really. I'm just starting to pool information together to make an informed decision. Most likely the devices we're going to use this on are a PS4, a PS3, and an iPad, but we're more concerned with the PS4/3. A lot of feedback (especially negative feedback) seems to come from sports-watchers, and we don't watch a lot of sports, so it's hard to gauge what our expectations should be with respect to the service being provided.

If anyone could give us their feedback, it would be hugely appreciated.
